"Sometimes to tell a secret, you first have to teach a lesson."
Concluding this year’s Freshers’ Slots is Paula Vogel’s 1998 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama How I Learned to Drive. Based on Vogel’s own experiences, the play is an honest, touching and funny look at a taboo romance between a young girl and an older man. It looks at the way hurt people hurt each other with what The New York Times recognized as Vogel’s “remarkable, clear-eyed empathy” and celebrates the way we move on and grow stronger even through the people who harm us.
This performance of ‘How I Learned to Drive’ is part of an evening triple bill alongside ‘Cherry Red Lights’ and ‘What Should We Do When Everything’s On Fire?’. You can purchase tickets for all three shows at a discounted price of £6.00 in person at the Bedlam Theatre Box Office.
