RENT - EU Footlights Present;

The Edinburgh University Footlights are proud to present Jonathan Larson’s multi-award winning musical, RENT.

Chronicling one year in the life of a young, Bohemian group of friends; Jonathan Larson’s Tony Award winning musical, plots their fight for personal and artistic freedom from commercialism under the oppressive shadow of HIV / AIDS in 1980s New York.

A raw and riveting milestone in musical theatre, RENT is a landmark rock musical based on Puccini’s La Bohème.

RENT follows on from the hugely successful Scottish Premier of ‘In the Heights’, the production which secured Footlights’ reputation as being ‘one of the most respected theatre groups in Britain’. (Edinburgh Evening News)
