Join a group performance creating a mandala inspired by the work of Richard Long.
Please note this event takes place in the Pleasance Vault, not the Cabaret Bar. Inquire at the box office upon arrival.
Mandala is a Sanskrit word meaning circle. Traditional Tibetan Buddhist mandalas are created out of colourful sand and after many hours of intricate creation, they are swept away, to underscore the transient nature of reality. Taking inspiration from the mud paintings of Richard Long, we intend to offer an opportunity for participants to create a group mandala on the wall, created with mud/clay. Once completed the mud mandala will be washed from the wall, highlighting transience but also the unique moment and dynamic of a group, that cannot be sustained or re-created.
